In Memoriam Zoltán Kodály

This compact disc features the winning works from the First International Composers’ Competition “In Memoriam Zoltan Kodaly”. The featured works are:

1. Patrick Standford: The Prayer of St Francis Interrupted by the Birds
2. Peter Knell: “…the weakening eye of day”
3. Robert Gulya: Piano Concerto

My work, “…the weakening eye of day” is a large neo-Romantic tone poem inspired by, among other works, the late Sibelius Symphonies.  The title of the work is misstated on the CD due to being translated into Hungarian and then back into English.
